Setting up your RewardWorks to use Virtual Payments is a three-step process. You must first register your RewardWorks software. After this is complete, you must Enroll your organization. Finally you will enroll your specific American Express card that will be used with virtual payments.


Registering with My Card Account (MYCA)

  1. Go to www.americanexpress.com/register in your web browser.

  2. Enter the card number and the 4-Digit Card ID for the American Express card you will be using

  3. If the primary card holder for your card does not have an existing account

    1. Click the Start Here button under the User ID and Password section

    2. Follow the prompts to register your card

  4. If the primary card holder has an existing account, they will be able to login with their User ID and Password


Enrolling the American Express Card

  1. Open RewardWorks
  2. On the Credit Cards tab, select the card that you wish to enroll and then click the Modify Credit Card button.
  3. Make sure that the card is Enabled.
  4. Click the checkbox for Enable American Express Virtual Payment. Enter all the Contact Info relevant for virtual payments. This information does not have to be the same as the Cardholder information.
  5. Click Enroll.


Under the Enroll Status, it will now say "In Progress" and it will indicate that an activation email has been sent to the primary card holder that looks like this. You will need to watch for this email. Once it arrives, click the link that says Click here.


This will take you to the following web page:



Login with the MYCA credentials of the primary card holder. If you are unsure who this is, click the Forgot User ID or Password. This will tell you the correct credentials for the primary card holder. Once you successfully login, you will be taken to this next screen where you can select the eligible card to be activated.



If it states that there are no eligible cards, this could mean that did not log in with the correct MYCA credentials.


Once you successfully select the eligible card, you will be asked to enter the card information and agree to the American Express Payment Services Client Agreement Terms & Conditions. Once you have successfully activated card you will receive a confirmation message:



Back in RewardWorks, if you go to the Credit Cards tab, the Card Enrollment Status for this card should now read Active.


You are now ready to make virtual payments with your American Express card!
